[01/13/2010] Information on Liability Insurance.
Unit Directors,
The following information provides one venue for securing the type and amount of liability insurance required for participation with the OIPA. Many different insurance companies, including The Boy Scouts of America offer programs/policies that will also meet these requirements, but this company seems to be willing to specialize in the type of policy that we as unit directors need to ensure the safety and compliance of our groups.
Note: Scholastic groups should be able to secure proof of insurance simply by requesting a copy of the school's certificate of liability from the administrative offices of thier school.
The company's name is Heffernan Insurance Brokers. The individual to contact at the company is Katherine Wong
